PHILOSOPHY

Introducing a Wellington workshop series in collaboration with Anna Banas:

Building Healthy Relationships
Three Saturdays:
May 4, May 18, June 8
12.30 - 5.30pm

If you'd like to develop skills for building healthy relationships (with yourself and others), develop awareness of why and how you communicate, what your triggers are, and to practice alternative ways to engage in communication and connection with those you are in relationship with - this series is for you.

This series of three workshops is borne out of our belief that having healthy relationships is a skill set - and one that we all can learn. These workshops will look at skills across all kinds of relationships - our relationship with ourselves, our children, intimate partnerships, family, friendships, work relationships...

These workshops will be held in-person, in Wellington, in collaboration with my dear friend and fellow coach, Anna Banas.

Workshop 1: Empathy & Self-empathy (May 4th) 12.30-5.30

Workshop 2: Requests & asking for what we really want (May 18th) 12.30-5.30

Workshop 3: Repair & coming back from ruptures (June 8 th) 12.30-5.30

Why participate in these three workshops?

These workshops are for you if you:

- care about relationships in your life;

- want to move away from blame, shame and anger, and towards honest and caring conversations;

- would like to deepen your connection with your loved ones;

- are tired of repeating the same patterns in interactions;

- are willing to spend time learning and practising skills for building healthy relationships;

- would like to learn how to repair and reconnect after ruptures.

These workshops are for those who want to invest in their relationships, before, during and after fault lines and conflicts happen.

Testimonials

Initially I started seeing Helen as part of a course to help with breathing for speech delivery, and came away with so much more.

I don’t enjoy being front and centre of a room so get anxious in advance, an issue around confidence not performance. We explored the why of that through self-reflection and mindfulness and  I’ve discovered so much more about myself, my values, and my drivers. I now recognise when they are not being met,  are being challenged, how that makes me feel,  and have more tools in the toolbox to work through it.

As a full time working mum it’s easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list, that doesn’t make for a whole and happy person. I’ve learnt that you have to pay attention to what your mind and body are telling you, and recognise when you need to pay attention and put some time and effort back into you.

I continue to work with Helen, an essential contriution to my wellbeing, she’s been a gift!

12 weeks ago, as an absolute novice, I joined a weekly class that Helen teaches and have not missed one since. Helen creates a wonderfully warm and safe environment, taking time to explain the “why” of the practice, while effortlessly catering to individual needs. As a teacher Helen allows you to find space to stretch not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
